About Us

Who We Are

Southern Counties Rescue was formed by volunteers with Kitten Rescue (an LA-based group) in Orange County.  We have been doing rescue and adoptions in Orange County since 2002.

In January 2012, we incorporated and became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving Orange, San Diego, and Imperial Counties.  In January 2023, we expanded our adoption locations to Washington state with the opening of our  North West Chapter in Bremerton.  We are an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff.

Our IRS 990 forms for 2020, 2021, and 2022.

Our Mission

To reduce the number of abandoned and killed cats and kittens in Orange, San Diego and Imperial Counties.

What We Do

Rescuing and Caring for Animals

We rescue off the streets and out of high kill shelters.

We rarely take pets from owners, but can help them to place their pet through our Community Foster Program.

Volunteers care for orphaned kittens that need to be bottle-fed, moms with kittens, cats that are injured or sick, and others that need socializing, all in their homes.

Rescuing and caring for animals takes fosters and donations!

Adoption Events

Adoption events are held most Saturday afternoons.  Check our home page or social media for dates and locations or contact us.  We also show our cats in their foster homes, depending on the location of the foster and potential adopter.  For more information, click Adopt.
